Radical Face.

So, my friend Jamie (man behind my wonderful logo-bird) discovered Radical Face from watching a mountain-climbing video or something and then I discovered them when I was the passenger in his car the other day.

I love random discoveries. And random people.

Jamie is kind of random.

He has a random moustache at least.

Anyhoo, I digress. I am a big fan of this track, A Pound of Flesh, and you may also want to check out Welcome Home too - it seems to have been super-popular in the film/TV sync world...

New music love.

Rachel Lévy.

French artist Rachel Lévy is such a beautiful photographer. Instead of focusing on the typical overwhelming beauty of a flower in full bloom she waits and captures them in at the end of their fleeting lives.

She captures their adventures; you can see how one may have been caught in a few wind tunnels or had too much sunshine just like we humans.

She apparently only sources specific types of flowers from horticulturalists to ensure that the plants have aged naturally and have been exposed to the elements.

Magical.

Goodnight, sweetheart.

OOooooooooohh.

So, up in Australia's north, friends and fashion design graduates Betony and Kelly have created ALAS (all light all shadow) sleepwear. And their stuff is utterly gorgeous. Let's face it, swoon-worthy PJs don't spring out of your top drawer too often do they?

ALAS's products are made from 100% organic Indian cotton and they girls have clearly jumped through many sustainability/Fairtrade/organic hoops before bringing the jarmies to our bedrooms. Read about their philosophies in that vein here.

To buy their beautiful sleepwear visit their online store here and for more info visit www.alasthelabel.com

Sweet dreams.

Rain.

Good evening thinkers. Well, Melbourne's sunshine glory-days were but a memory today - instead there has been a constant, heavy sprinkle of rain.

And I have absolutely loved it.

I've spent the day tinkering...my absolute favourite thing to do.

I baked a rhubarb and cinnamon tea cake.

I watched some episodes of the wonderful Man Shops Globe and fantasised about the day when Keith and I will be friends and go on shopping trips together.

And I've been blogsearching and researching. My bookmarks buttons have been severely overworked. The bonus being that you'll see the spoils of my researching in the coming days and weeks. Lots of new discoveries!

Tonight is full of red wine and jazz. A bubble bath and book eve. Or a late-movie-with-a-lover night.

Wear a full skirt or bow-tie and frolic my loves. Whether it's raining or smiling sunshine in your land.

Cheeky Fridays.

Oh dear ones this weekend is going to be so cheeky. Don't you think? The weather in southern Australia has been just glorious so I'm hoping it continues all weekend.

Tonight I'm going to hibernate in the ladypad and try to organise some of the chaos that comes with a move. I've discovered that I'm a hoarder. I'm also a really good spring cleaner but my habit seems to be to HOARD then 6 months later CULL. Then HOARD quickly again. Then CULL. You get the gist.

Tomorrow I'm going to go for a lovely long walk and a cuppa with my friend GG. And perhaps try to find the perfect dining table for the nest. And perhaps some lovely chairs like the two pictured above for my balcony. We'll see.

Then it's an action packed Sunday starting with brunch with Lady C, Sue and the MMs before hitting MarkIt and a special showing at the secretive Gallerie L'Orientaliste.

It's going to be just swell. Might just be jumpsuit time again. It's that exciting.

Giggle a little bit this weekend, ok?

p.s I took this pic at the glorious Greys Court National Trust residence in England. Beautiful.

Ulyana Sergeenko.

Talk about bursting onto the scene. Russian fashion designer Ulyana Sergeenko has just released her first collection, Fall-Winter 11/12.

It's as though Little Red Riding Hood went all Vogue on herself and stumbled into a couture forest. Ridiculously amazing. She will be huge in no time, I have no doubt.

You can also view the show here.

I want ALL of it.

The Great Gatsby.

The first pics of the costumes from The Great Gatsby have hit the internets today. Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin are at it again...

Shit's getting awesome...

True Blood.

I've been re-watching some True Blood lately. Oooo, it's so darn good isn't it? I love this Rolling Stone cover shot by Matthew Rolston.

Family weekend + Found by Francoise.

Happy Sunday you darlings. I have had a busy and joyous weekend. My brother and his girl came to the farm for the weekend; it was the first time we'd both been at home together in a very, very long time.

We drank champagne in the rose garden, I baked a rhubarb and cinnamon tea-cake, we watched vintage James Bond and cooked dumplings; it was so wonderful.

I also spent much of the weekend taking photographs of my vast treasure collection, soon to be available for sale online and in various pop-up shops under the name Found by Francoise.

I've attached a few shots from my shoots. Most of the items have been purchased in England so there are lots of vintage delights from the motherland.
I hope your weekends were as mellow and sunshine-y. Mwah.

Picasso in Sydney.

The Art Gallery of NSW will today unveil the most significant collection of Picasso pieces ever to visit Australian shores. 150 of the painter's works will be on display.

The masterpieces are on loan from Paris's Musée National Picasso, the largest and most renowned repository of the artist's works in the world.

He was an odd little man wasn't he?

Colours of the Wind - photo love.

Earlier this year I came back home from the US for a holiday. As I'd missed my birthday I decided to have a belated celebration at my parents' property, Georges Reserve, with some of my nearest and dearest. It was so darn special.

That night inspired me to hold an annual Georges Reserve Gathering, each with a unique theme. And so, on Saturday 8 October, not long after my permanent homecoming, I hosted the first one...Colours of the Wind.

There was a welcome cocktail called Tom, drumming, vintage beehives, flowers everywhere, fires, interpretive dancing, tribal names, a locally caught trout and a teepee. And many, many wonderful people.

I posted a sneak peek here recently and wanted to share some more pics...so here you go. I hope you enjoy lovers.
